Throughout my experience - engaging diversity has set a tone for students to understand and value differences. Many of us are from different backgrounds where we are exposed to a certain culture. As a result, we differ in our behavior and how we engage with others. A key understanding in these differences is what entails practical use of engaging diversity. For example, language barriers and learning methods.

Firstly, language barrier plays a role in different types of communication and different settings, such as the workplace and international situations. People can communicate with one another while being intentional and understanding of how different languages affect the process of interpersonal communication.

Secondly, breaking this language barrier involves flexibility, adaptation, and adjustment. Learning methods from most institutions are often rooted in traditional norms and are inflexible to a more diverse setting. I believe that any type of teaching and learning method should be able to adjust where necessary to fulfill the needs of a diverse class.
